Andrea Veronica Armijos Navarro, MSc

Andrea is a psychologist who graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana de Cali with a Master in Psychological Intervencion in the Social Environment (University of Valencia), and postgraduate studies in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid. Currently, she is the national coordinator of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Program at HIAS-Ecuador. She has experience in clinical practice from a cognitive-behavioral approach and with vulnerable populations including children and adolescents, persons deprived of liberty, women survivors of gender-based violence, populations in situations of human mobility and / or refuge, among others. She has had direct work with populations and communities affected by humanitarian emergencies and natural disasters nationally and internationally (Ecuador, Colombia, Spain and Guinea Bissa├║), through interventions based on empowerment, resilience and the restitution of rights with a psychosocial and ecological approach. She has done direct work and coordination of international cooperation and humanitarian aid projects and has participated in various research processes in psychology. Andrea has contributed to the publication of five editions of indexed journals of scientific articles. She is also a master trainer/coordinator in Ecuador of the ACT program – Educating Children in Safe Environments of the American Psychological Association.
