Jana Chihai, PhD

Associate Professor

Jana Chihai, PhD is a psychiatrist, psychotherapist, Associate Professor in Psychiatry Department of State Medical and Pharmaceutical University Nicolae Testemitanu in Chisinau, and senior Mental Health Advisor in Trimbos Institute Moldova, project MENSANA. She is the president of National Society of Psychiatrists, Narcologists, Psychotherapist and Clinical Psychologists. Dr. Chihai studied medicine and psychiatry, received psychotherapeutic specialization in European School of Psychotherapy, Socio- and Somatoanalysis in Strasbourg, France and Association of Integrative Psychotherapy and Clinical Psychology, Iasi, Romania. Since 2000 she promoted a new approach in mental health – Community-based services and is very implicated in mental health reform in Republic of Moldova.
