José A. Posada-Villa, MD Specialist in Psychiatry from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Specialist in Social Management. He is the former head of Mental Health and Human Behavior at the Ministry of Health, and was a Principal Investigator of the National Study of Mental Health Colombia 1993 and 2003. Dr. Posada-Villa is a member of the International Consortium of Psychiatric Epidemiology (WHO – Harvard University – University of Michigan), the World Federation for Mental Health, the Colombian Academy of Public Health and Social Security , and the Colombian Association of Psychiatry and the Mental Health Committee of the National Academy of Medicine. Dr. Posada-Villa is a Mental Health Advisor to the National Academy of Medicine, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the Health Secretariat of Medellín. He is also a University professor.
